We often hear that to change our lives, we must simply "think positive" or "raise our vibration." But if you’ve ever tried to manifest an abundant life while feeling an anchor of anxiety or unworthiness dragging behind you, you know that affirmations alone aren't always enough.
To truly manifest, we must first look into the Shadow.
What is Shadow Work?
Coined by Carl Jung, the "Shadow" represents the parts of ourselves we’ve pushed into the basement of our subconscious—the anger we weren't allowed to show, the "selfish" desires we were shamed for, or the trauma we’ve tucked away to survive.
Shadow Work isn't about "fixing" these parts; it’s about integration. It’s the process of taking a candle into that basement, meeting those versions of ourselves with radical compassion, and bringing them back into the light.
The Missing Link in Manifestation
Manifestation is the art of co-creating with the Universe. However, the Universe doesn't respond to what we say—it responds to our internal frequency.
If you are trying to manifest love but your Shadow believes you are unlovable, you are essentially driving with the handbrake on. By doing the Shadow Work, you release that brake. You clear the energetic "clutter" that blocks your manifestations from landing.
Magickal Truth: You cannot plant a garden of gold until you’ve cleared the rotted roots of the past.

The "January Quickening" has brought a surge of cosmic energy into the studio, and I’m so excited to finally pull back the curtain on what we’ve been brewing in the heart of the South Wales valleys.
The Great Moldavite Delivery: 100g of Galactic Fire
If you follow the shop, you know that Moldavite is our heartbeat. This month, we received a massive delivery of over 100g of raw Chlum Moldavite straight from a very trusted seller. Holding that much "Grail Stone" at once is an experience I can’t quite put into words—I do love Moldavite!
This batch is particularly special; the etchings are deep, the green is that perfect, mossy forest hue, and the vibration is off the charts. I’ve spent the last few weeks hand-selecting pieces for upcoming talismans, ensuring that each fragment of stardust finds its perfect crystalline partner.

The workbench has never been busier. I’ve been deep in the process of hand-moulding and prepping dozens of new pieces. There is currently a beautiful, heavy queue of pendants waiting to enter the electroforming tanks.
Watching the copper slowly grow and "marry" itself to the stones is a form of modern alchemy I never tire of. We use copper because it is the most conductive metal for spiritual work—it doesn’t just hold the stones; it pulses with them. From raw Phenacite clusters to chunky Herkimer Diamonds, the upcoming drop is going to be our most powerful yet.
Electric Energy: A Night at the Moot
One of the absolute highlights of early February was attending a local Pagan Moot. There is something so vital about stepping out of the solitary studio and into the collective energy of the community.
The energy that night was electric. To be in a room full of witches, druids, and seekers—all sharing stories, wisdom, and a laugh—reminded me exactly why I do this. We talked about the history of amulets, the shifting energies of the new year, and the importance of localised magick. I left that moot feeling completely recharged, with that buzzing, "static-hair" kind of energy that only comes from deep spiritual connection. That communal spark has been inspiring – and this little gremlin loved meeting everyone (again).

Copper jewellery is beautiful, but like all metals, it needs a little love to stay looking its best! Here’s a quick guide to keeping your pieces vibrant and shining.
🧼 Essential Care Instructions
Copper is prone to tarnishing (a natural darkening process called oxidation) when exposed to air, moisture, and skin oils. A little care goes a long way:
- Keep it Dry: Always remove your copper jewellery before showering, swimming (especially in chlorine!), or doing dishes. Moisture is the number one enemy of shine!
- Last On, First Off: Put your jewellery on after you've applied lotions, perfumes, hairspray, and sanitiser, and take it off before washing your hands or getting ready for bed.
- Gentle Cleaning: For light tarnish, gently rub your piece with a soft jewellery polishing cloth, glasses cloth etc
- Deeper Clean: For heavier tarnish, a gentle homemade cleaner works wonders:
- Mix lemon juice and salt to form a paste or use a solution of warm vinegar and salt.
- Apply with a soft cloth or toothbrush, rinse thoroughly with clean water, and pat completely dry. Be mindful if your piece has soft or porous gemstones!
- Storage is Key: Store your copper pieces in a dry, cool place, ideally in a sealed plastic bag or a jewellery box with an anti-tarnish strip. Storing it away from humidity (like a bathroom) is crucial.
🛌 Can I Sleep in Copper Jewellery?
It's generally recommended that you DO NOT sleep in your copper jewellery but even I at The Magickal Hud Shop do…
- Why? Sweat and natural oils produced by your skin overnight will accelerate the tarnishing process.
- Risk of Damage: Chains and delicate components can also be easily stretched, bent, or broken while tossing and turning.
- Extra Tip: Make it a habit to remove your jewellery as part of your nightly routine—it helps keep both your jewellery and your skin happy!
🟢 Something Else to Know: The "Green Finger"
Copper can sometimes leave a harmless green or bluish mark on your skin.
- This is a natural reaction when the copper oxidises and interacts with your skin's natural acidity, oils, or products. It’s essentially a temporary stain.
- Prevention: Keeping your jewellery clean, dry, and removing it before sleeping or swimming is the best way to minimise this. Some choose to apply a thin layer of jewellery sealant or even clear nail polish to the inside of rings to create a barrier.

ROYALMAIL IS SUSPENDING USA DELIVERIES FROM THE 26th AUG 2025 to the 29th AUGUST 2025 - I am still unclear how to calculate tariffs into shipping. But it's looking like 10% plus handling and customs fees. I think I get it at check out - and if so, I will add it into the website - so it reflects at checkout.
Please be aware that we will be as transparent as we can, we will try and incorporate and lessen any fees to our customers. BUT we are not liable for other countries customs and fees- so PLEASE check yours so you are not surprised.
I try to keep fees and costs as Low as possible, often adding free shipping, money off, special deals, freebies and more. Considering time, effort, quality of stones, the machines, processes etc

Removal of de minimus on AUG 29 2025
UK TO US IMPORT CHANGES FROM THE 29TH AUG 2025
& how will it affect us?
From August 29th the de minimus to US will change meaning exporting from the UK even gifts will be subject to customs.
I’m researching about how hard this will affect my US customers but be rest assured - I’m looking hard into it to ensure we don’t just stop being able to send to you.
Though I know many small UK business owners are ceasing trading to the US from the 29th; we are hoping it’s still feasible- currently, nothing is clear on how it will work & obviously the full scope of impact is unclear.
There has been talk about a flat fee on no minimum order or a % - added on to checkout, prepaid at posting or completely received by buyer / seller.
Whilst I’m currently not suspending postage to the US from the 29th - I am aware that this may not be feasible for my business to continue posting to the US if each shipment costs us (or you) $80 on a $150 dollar order as well as any other applicable fees that I, as a seller, have to pay.
So for now, I’m going to say that I am aware. My eyes are open & ears to the ground. We are in this together.

We love our customers wherever you are from and we will do our utmost to minimise impact, thought it may be completely out of our hands and affect us to the point that we may have to consider a temporary UK to US pause until a solution is found. I am trying to not let that happen.

Phenacite: The High-Voltage Crystal and Its Energetic Partnerships
I have had the pleasure to take delivery of a few hand-selected pieces of Brazilian Phenacite and specifically chose my very own piece to connect and understand it –
As I do with deliveries and choosing crystals and tektites – I think it is important to get to know them, so they are paired correctly or whether they want to be on their own. I like to understand their shapes; their energy and I enjoy their beauty in all forms. I do not usually keep what is for my shop, but I was instantly intrigued with this.
I’ve heard whispers through energy workers about the incredible effects – as someone who isn’t sensitive to Moldavite energy (I LOVE Moldavite and finds that its energy works symbiotically with my own – being a grey pather with natural magick roots; I have had the flush but not intensely, it adjusts to my energy really easily so working with it is a real pleasure and has become a firm favourite of mine!) – I was thinking that it would be something similar in the sense of feeling gentle, yet I know when I wear it, I get a lot done and opportunities present. Moldavite energy to me is highly comforting. I also think Moldavite is incredibly beautiful.
Boy, was I wrong. I could feel my piece before I had even opened the package.
My hands went ice cold, and from my third eye to the back of my head felt OPEN and cold, my speech was affected, my energy rose, and it felt like a million thoughts. Like my own sensitivities energetically [seeing orbs, intuition and pattern recognition] was suddenly heightened too fast for my body to handle. It was like tasting the tastiest electricity! So off she went, with one of my Moldavite facets and my adventuring Herkimer [the one that likes to disappear and reappear] to be made into my own little talisman so that I could immerse myself into the energy and see where she would take me!
I know amazing things will happen with this. It IS amazing but I honestly will be warning the most sensitive of our community – I wouldn’t class myself as sensitive, there are people much more than I am, but I have never felt anything like this. Incredible. Absolutely Magickal. Powerful.
